Magnolia

Magnolia

Yes, it is that time of year. My nemesis, the magnolia, is in bloom and it is time to make another attempt at a decent image. The blooming started mid April this year, which is about the same time as last year. Which is still early for this part of Norway. Even the birches have leaves now. Ten years ago this would have been about two weeks early, but I guess this will be the new norm.

That Magnolia again

Yes, it’s that magnolia again. The one I find so hard to get a decent shot of. And, no, there is nothing special about this shot either. What is special though is that this year it is in bloom almost two weeks earlier than last year. We have just over one week left of April, and already we have had temperatures between 15°C and 20°C for several days.

Magnolia

Outside the office where I work we have a magnolia tree. I've always found it a bit difficult to get a good shot of it. Over the past few years I have tried several times, but that image always seems to elude me. Hence a single flower yet again.

Magnolia

There is a magnolia tree I have tried to get a decent shot of. I have tried a number of times, but I have not been able to nail it. This time was no different, so I decided to get the 10 stop ND filter out and make a long exposure. It may not be a great image, but it does illustrate my frustration with the motif which just seems to slip through my fingers.
