Rock detail, Bøverdalen

Going through images I shot this summer I found this image. I had almost forgotten about it. On my way through Bøverdalen I came across some huge boulders a kilometer or so from Krossbu. I stopped and shot a few frames from different angles. This is the last frame in the series, and looking at it again I spotted a detail I had overlooked at first. I have worked a little with light and contrast to emphasize it slightly. See if you can spot it.

Test driving

Here is a shot I took earlier this year as I was testing the Leica M-Monochrom. Not everybodys cup of tea the Monochrom, but I do like the concept. This shot is taken with the Summilux 50mm, and the two shadows you see on the side of gas tank is the anxious shop assistant and yours truly.

Primitive Ice Art

Over the past week conditions have been perfect for "ice art" like in the image I have posted here. What happens is that ice starts to form on a small pond, but the ground underneath the pond will not frozen and water seeps into the ground and as it the ice form. As the water trickles away air bubbles start to form. This process can create fascinating patterns, almost like cave paintings.

Ice Droplets

Over the past week we have had cold, clear weather and ice have stared to form on ponds and lakes. I found the way the ice droplets on the straws catch and scatter the light intriguing. The colors in the upper righthand corner of the image is the reflection of the colorful sunset.

Near Flåklypa

This image if from the same area as one of my previous posts, "Rock face".  Different part of the stream, and I have used a 10 stop ND filter to blur the water.

The name Flåklypa has a special ring to it for most Norwegians my age. It is closely linked with the stop motion-animated feature film "Flåklypa Grand Prix", or as it is know in English, "Pinchcliffe Grand Prix" (see the Wikipedia article for more info

Rocks and Mirror Image

This is a site I have photographed from different angles several times over the past year. It is the building of the Department of Informatics at the University of Oslo. I like the building and the area surrounding it, and i have often found an image or two when I have been there with my camera. This time it was the contrast between the rocks in the pool and the mirror image of the building that caught my attention.
