Caught in the Ice
Ice Patterns
Amazing what kind of patterns frost sometimes forms when you have the right conditions. This is from the rear window of a car. The image is taken just after sunset on a clear day and I have set the white balance to daylight, and the result is this blue colour.
Impala
In the Woods
This time of year we normally have frost and cold weather, but it has been cloudy and quite mild for some time now. Out scouting for a good spot for getting a few nice shots of ice when the weather turns, I came across this scene. Not much of a winter wonder land yet.
Straws
Out and about with the Leica M240 IV
This is an image shot with the M240 I had on loan a few weeks back. The shot is inspired by Saul Leiter. I recommend a closer look at his work, especially his early colour photographs.
Reflection
Out and about with the Leica M240 III
You know the cliché - autumn, a line of trees and a "perfect" reflection, well the scene just needed a little something.

Out and about with the Leica M240
Had to hand back the Leica M, or M240 if you like, Interfoto Norge was kind enough to lend me. The rangefinder camera may not be for everybody, but I have to admit that I quite like the simplicity of it. You basically have focus and exposure to play with. The rest is up to you. I admit that the focusing takes a bit of practice, but once you get the hang of it it is quite intuitive.
Sand and Water
As I was looking for something to shoot along a small stream I came across these patterns created by the meandering water and the sand on the river bed. The main source for this stream is a glacier, and the different colours come about as the layers of sand from different rock types is moved around by the water.
