This is an image I shot a couple of years ago. What caught my attention was the way the sun was reflected on to the windowless facade by the windows on the building behind me. I came to think of the image as I walked past the same building a few days ago.

Voyage
The Old House
This is an image from a recent road trip with the British photographer Steve Gosling and his wife. We came across this derelict house in the little village Marifjøra in Sognefjorden. A nice old house, but now apparently abandoned and neglected.

Colorful Lichens
Lichens are "... are composite organisms consisting of a fungus and photosynthetic partner growing together in a symbiotic relationship" according to Wikipedia. And I think, mind you I am no expert, this is what is know as "map lichen". You will find them on rocks in alpine regions. They grow very slowly, and form beautiful, map like patterns.
At Trollstigen
Trollstigen is popular among tourists, and to better handle the crowds of visitors rest and service facilities has been built - a cafeteria, rest rooms and, of course, a souvenir shop. It was raining and foggy when I visited Trollstigen, so I decided to take a picture of the visitors center and the artificial "waterfall" created in the river which runs in front of the center.

Aurlandsfjorden
The view here is from a place called "Stegasteinen" a viewpoint above the fjord Aulandsfjorden, which is a branch of Sognefjorden. Stegasteinen is on the historic route between Laerdal and Aurland, a road taking you over the mountain up to 1300 meters above sea level. The mountains you see in this picture are about 1200 meters above sea level. If scenic routes are not your cup of tea, you could take the tunnel through the mountain instead. The road tunnel is said to be the worlds longest, and it is 24km long.
Reflections
Keeping it simple and doing a high contrast black and white conversion to keep the water dark, and clipping the shadows slightly to get that black, oil like look.
Spring
After a cold, windy few weeks it feels good to have enjoyed a mild, sunny day again.
